OBITUARY - Doris Leona Larsen
October 14, 1915 - January 22, 2001 Doris Larsen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and devoted her life to her family. She is survived by her husband Raymond W. Larsen, her children Donna McIntosh (husband Marvin) and Darrell Pierce (wife Penny). Grandchildren are Paul McIntosh (wife Heather), Janet (McIntosh) Hoffmann (husband Tony), Jeffrey Pierce (wife Darla) and Elisa Pierce. Great-grandchildren include Michael and Richard McIntosh, Steven Hoffmann and Kendra, Alex and Jakob Pierce. She is preceded in death by brother Peter Tooke and former husband Bernard Pierce. Doris was born to Bert and Ada Tooke in Dunseith, North Dakota, a small farming town 12 miles south of the Canadian border. After high school graduation, she and brother Pete worked in the Dunseith area until the fall of 1935; when unable to eke out a living farming, the entire family decided to move west (on her 20th birthday). The remainder of her life was spent in Tacoma, with the exception of 2 years during WWII spent farming in Nebraska and Colorado. The family wishes to thank the loving staff at Lakewood Healthcare Center and special friend Evelyn Fredrickson. As Doris described them, “They are true angels.” Graveside services will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park, 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2001; viewing Wednesday, 11 a.m to 9 p.m. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home, 584-0252.

Raymond W. Larsen passed away suddenly Feb. 3, 2002. Ray was born in Bellingham, WA, Feb. 1, 1910, and resided in Tacoma, WA all of his life. He was retired from St. Regis Paper Co. He enjoyed gardening and bossing people around. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris. He is survived by daugh- ter Donna McIntosh (Marvin), son Darrell Pierce (Penny), brothers Paul Larsen (Joyce) and Cecil Larsen (Evonne), four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
