Descendants of Thomas DAVIS & Barabara SIMPSON

Thomas and Barbara were married in 1851 in Gretna Green, a town described as a village in the south of Scotland famous for runaway weddings. They must have emigrated immediatley to Canada because they appear on the 1851 Canadjan Census (actually taken in 1852), Thomas is listed as a farmer and Inn Keeper living in Greenock Township, Bruce County, Ontario. By 1861 they had moved to a farm in Culross Township . It appears Thomas may have been married before since the 1851 census shows a son Thomas born 1846 in Scotland.
