Descendants of Roderick DARROCH & Florie PIERIE

Roderick (Roger) and Flora where married in 1826 on Colonsay Isalnd, Argyllshire. Roderick apparently passed away before 1841 and Florie was left to raise their family of four boys and three girls on her own. In 1855 their son Charles left Colonsay for the 'New World' destined for Bruce County in Upper Canada where several other families from Colonsay had settled. Here Charles married Catherine 'Kate' McEACHERN. Catherine was born in Prince Edward Island but her parents were also natives of Colonsay
