2. Jan Cornelis "John" van der PLAS, son of Cornelis Jan "Cor" van der PLAS and Jansje Jeanette DEKKER, was born on June 22, 1912 in Bergen, , Noord-Holland, Netherlands, died on July 31, 1989 in Paisley, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada aged 77, and was buried in Starkvale Cemetery Paisley, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada. He was usually called John.

After their marriage in 1942 Jan & Stien operated a Melkhandel in Schoorl. In 1949 they emigrated to Canada where John worked at the Paisley Creamery, owned by Stien's brother Peter Cutter. In 1958 John & Stien bought the Vanderplas 5c to $1.00. They sold the store to Ron and Vicki ABBS in 1978 and retired to a new home in the north end of Paisley.

John married Christina "Stien" GUTTER on September 22, 1942 in Bergen, , Noord-Holland, Netherlands. Stien was born on October 19, 1920 in Sint Pancras, , Noord-Holland, Netherlands, died on January 8, 2007 in Paisley, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada aged 86, and was buried in Starkvale Cemetery Paisley, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada. She was usually called Stien.

Children from this marriage were:

1         i.  Cornelis Jan "Case" VANDERPLAS (born on December 8, 1943 in Schoorl, , Noord-Holland, Netherlands)

         ii.  Peter Albert van der PLAS was born on June 18, 1945 in Schoorl, , Noord-Holland, Netherlands and died in October 2019 in Ermelo, , Gelderland, Netherlands aged 74.

Christina "Stien" GUTTER, daughter of Albert GUTTER and Jannetje MOLENAAR, was born on October 19, 1920 in Sint Pancras, , Noord-Holland, Netherlands, died on January 8, 2007 in Paisley, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada aged 86, and was buried in Starkvale Cemetery Paisley, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada. She was usually called Stien.

Stien worked for her father delivering milk door to door as a teenager in Schoorl. After her marriage to Jan van der PLAS they continued to operate the Melkhandel until their relocation to Canada in 1949. Stien worked at the Paisley Creamery grading eggs until 1958 when they purchased the 5c - $1.00 Store in Paisley from Wally Gregg. Stien operated this store until they retired in 1978.
