Jeanne, her husband Jan and three children immigrated to Australia on board the Grote Beer, arriving in Fremantle 1951 She worked full time in her husbands 5 shops, The first in Onslow road Shenton Park Perth. The family lived in the house at the back of the shop for about 14 years, .They then purchased a store in Wembley, and later after selling it, they both enjoyed running a Guest house that they purchased for $5000.00 dollars on the coastal port of Geraldton Western Australia 350 kms north of Perth. After about 7 years there they made the trip to Queensland and purchased a home and Continental delicatessen, one of three they owned. At the age of 60 years Jeanne, who had worked with Jan all those years retired and both returned to Perth Western Australia about 1978.. She then took up the hobby of leadlight windows, knitted jumpers for all and swam in the ocean daily. Jeanne, ,always looked beautiful, had a happy smile and kept close contact with her dutch family in Holland.

Jan immigrated to Australia with his wife Jeanne and three children in 1951 after serving for 12 years in The Royal Dutch Navy. . They left Amsterdam, Netherlands February 23, 1951 on board the Groote Beer, arriving in Freemantle, Western Australia March 21, 1951. His Parents were shop owners , Jan followed the family tradition by buying a shop in Onslow Road Shenton Park Perth with a home,, And living there for about 14 years, .His second shop was in Gregory street Wembley,. Then They decided to try owning a Guest house in Geraldton West Australia a country wheat town by the ocean, and enjoyed cooking and caring for holiday makers for about 7 years. and then both in 1970 traveled to Queensland liked it and in Surfers Paradise bought a home and contential delicatessen shop one of 3 they owned. in 1978 they returned to Perth and retired.Jan was always sociable and polite always the gentleman. In his spare time he loved soccer and fishing.
