Jan Cornelis "John" van der PLAS

After their marriage in 1942 Jan & Stien operated a Melkhandel in Schoorl. In 1949 they emigrated to Canada where John worked at the Paisley Creamery, owned by Stien's brother Peter Cutter. In 1958 John & Stien bought the Vanderplas 5c to $1.00. They sold the store to Ron and Vicki ABBS in 1978 and retired to a new home in the north end of Paisley.

Jan married Christina "Stien" GUTTER, daughter of Albert GUTTER and Jannetje MOLENAAR, on September 22, 1942 in Bergen, , Noord-Holland, Netherlands. (Christina "Stien" GUTTER was born on October 19, 1920 in Sint Pancras, , Noord-Holland, Netherlands, died on January 8, 2007 in Paisley, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada and was buried in Starkvale Cemetery Paisley, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada.)
