Mrs. Majury, the former Eliza Jane Watson died in Owen Sound General and Marine Hospital on July 6th following an illness of only a few hours. She had been spending a few days at the home of her son near the city when she suffered a stroke at the evening meal with her family. She was removed to hospital immediately, but passed away six hours later, without regaining consciousness. She was in her 92nd year. A daughter of the late Jane Ritchie and William Watson, the subject of this sketch was born in Elderslie Twp., on the Elora Road South, on the farm now occupied by Chester Teeple. She was educated at Ellengowan School. For the past number of years Mrs. Majury made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Robert Alexander of Eden Grove. Her health was remarkably good, and she enjoyed visiting with other members of her family, while her principle occupation was knitting, at which she was particularly adept.
