John McALLISTER and Marion McGEACHY were married in Argyllshire in 1825, they had at least seven children. Marion apparemtly died in the early 40's. John then married (?) Sarah McGEACHY and they had at least one cild, a son Duncan in 1845.
In 1856 John, Sarah, Donald, Alex, Malcolm, Duncan and daughter (Euphemisa?) emigrated to Canada and while they were on a ship taking them up the St. Lawrence River it caught fire and sank. Unfortunately John, Duncan and Euphenia were lost. Sarah, Donald, Alex and Malcolm continued on to Bruce County where they settled on Lot 13, Con 6, Of Elderslie Township.
