Hugh MacNEILL, born in Scotland about 1819, emigrated to Prince Edward Island where he met and married Catherine McNIVEN. Their nine children were all born in P.E.I. and in about 1879 the family moved to the Elora Road north of Paisley, Ontario. By 1881 they were living on Lot 34, Con 14 of Bruce Twp, Bruce County.
