William and Martha were married about 1816 and lived in Aylmerton, Norfolk, England where their children were born. The family emigrated to Canada about 1838 and by 1851 they were settled near Queensville in York County, Ontario. Their son James married Nancy Travis in East Gwillimbury where their family were born. In the early 1880's James relocated his family to the 10th Concession of Bruce Township in Bruce County, Ontario.
