Descendants of Captain David & Agnes Ann VALENTINE

John Valentine, son of Capt. David secured a mill privilege in 1852 on the Teeswater River at Paisley. A dam was immediately built to provide power for the sawmill, which was required to saw the lumber for the flour mill, built in 1854 on the site of the present mill. Mr. Valentine provided a market for logs and wheat to the early pioneers until 1872 when the business was sold to Mr. James Stark.
