William ANSTEAD and Emily Parrongton were married 1847 in London, England. They emigrated to Wellington County, Upper Canada about 1850 and relocated Bruce County, Ontario in 1854. William Anstead was a brick and tile maker, a builder and the local preacher. He first acted in the capacity of preacher; and having a good knowledge of medicine, made himself of great use to the settlers as a doctor. From 1862 to 1866 he was employed vaccinating the Indians of British Columbia and Mexico. |
