Dr. Donald H. MILNE was born in Bentick Township, Grey County. He attended school at Pearl Lake in Brant Township, and Chesley High School, before going to the University of Toronto. He obtained his degree and after an internship came to Cargill, Greenock Township to practice as General Practitioner. In Cargill he met Jean MUTRIE and after their marriage in 1940 he served in the Air Force until 1945. After the death of Dr. TUCKER in 1948, Dr. MILNE relocated his practice to Paisley, Ontario. Here he provided excellent medical care for the district and did so single handed except for a brief period, 1950 - 52, when his nephew, Dr. D.A.D. MILNE practised with him until the former left to set up practise in Kincardine, Ontario. Dr. and Jean MILNE were a vitale part of the Paisley and area community and their roots were firmly established in the Grey-Bruce area and as such I felt it would be of interest to show how they are "connected". The MUTRIE Family currently goes back to John MUTRIE born in 1785 in Lanarkshire, Scotland. He married Janet WILSON in 1815 in Lanarkshire. Janet WILSON was a sister to Elizabeth WILSON wife of Dundas ALEXANDER, also a family featured on this site. Janet's brother Tom WILSON married Margaret STEWART and settled in the Wellington County area and her other sister Margaret married William ARMSTRONG. The PINKERTON Family connection has been well researched by Geoff PINKERTON, a lot of the info I have compiled was thanks to his wonderful web pages. To read more on the PINKERTON Family in Bruce County go to Geoff's web site. The Pedigree Chart Charts below are for both the MILNE and MUTRIE Families. This is based on the data I have been able to compile to date. Thanks to Jim and Kris MILNE for the majority of the family history on this couple. The rest of the information was compiled off the internet so please be advised I have not verified it's accuracy and it is only as good as it was when input. |
