EXCHANGE RINGS AT LAWN WEDDING : WATSON-THOMPSON Delphinium and peonies decorated the lawn at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Thompson on Saturday, June 18th at 12:30 noon for the marriage of their daughter, Elva Aileen to William Bert Watson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Watson of Eden Grove. Rev. G.I. Stephenson performed the double ring ceremony and Mrs. G.I. Stephenson played the music. A white silk broadcloth carpet stretched from the staircase to the lawn alter. For the double ring ceremony the bride , given in marriage by her father, chose a gown of white satin with panels of Alcenon lace, sweetheart neckline and shirred bodice. Her full-length veil fell softly to the hem of her skirt from a heart shaped tiara of net. Dream roses comprised her cascade bouquet. As maid of honour, Miss Vera Thompson, sister of the bride wore a frock of gala yellow taffeta with matching bandeau headdress. She carried a bouquet of lavender carnations and wore matching lavender mittens. William Alexander was best man. Receiving later at Milhausen's for the wedding dinner, the mother of the bride wore a gown of navy petit point crepe with matching accessories, and a corsage of pink carnations. The groom's mother was frocked in navy crepe, with matching accessories, and wore pink carnations. The pillared three-storied wedding cake centered the table of the dining room which was artistically decorated with dream roses and pink and white streamers. A chicken dinner was served to about fifty guests. The groom's gift to the bride was a matching set of diamond necklace and earrings, to the maid of honour a gold filled compact, and to the best man a leather billfold.
