OBITUARY FOR ROBERT MARSHALL WATSON Paisley Advocate, December 1970. The death on Wednesday of another well known and highly esteemed citizen occurred, of Mr. Marshall Watson at his home in Eden Grove. His funeral was held on Saturday from the James Hope Funeral Home with temporary entombment in Douglas Hill Mortuary, Rev. J. Downing officiated. Marshall was born near Paisley in 1890, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Watson. He worked on his father's farm until 1915, when he married the former Catherine Lamb and moved to his own farm. After retiring from farming in 1947, he moved to Eden Grove, for more than 30 years he delivered mail from Eden Grove Post Office on a long and sometime difficult route, retiring about 3 years ago, and it goes without saying that his service for the government and post office was most satisfactory. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Church. He will be missed in the village but memory of a good life lived will linger. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, John of R.R. #1 Cargill and Bert of Guelph, one brother, Fred of Alvanley and two grandchildren, one brother, Mel, predeceased him two weeks ago.
